Presenter Bio - Scott Ampe

Workshop Description:An overview of the program services provided to youth court ordered to the MCF-Red Wing program.

Presenters:
Adam Blaschko, Corrections Lieutenant  
Kari Boser, Corrections Security Caseworker Career

 Lt. Adam Blaschko: Adam Blaschko is a Corrections Lieutenant at the Minnesota Department of Corrections and has worked for the department since 2008. He graduated from Winona State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice-Corrections. In 2012, he was the Minnesota Juvenile Detention Association- Juvenile Detention Worker of the Year.  His involvement in corrections has been with both the juvenile and adult population. Most recently, Adam as taken on the role of a Program Lieutenant. Other than his daily duties, he is a Special Operations Response Team Commander and teaches several specialized disciplines within the operations team, including being an instructor in areas such as: self-defense, control tactics, and chemical munitions. Adam prides himself on mentoring staff and is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and experiences within the field of corrections.

CSCC Kari Boser:  Kari Boser is a Corrections Security Caseworker Career at the MN Correctional Facility-Red Wing. She has been with the DOC since 2013, and has also worked in the capacity of Corrections Officer, and Clinical Program Therapist-Chemical Dependency. Kari earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice-Corrections from Winona State University, and obtained a certificate in Chemical Dependency from Century College. Kari has been working in the juvenile justice and chemical dependency fields in a variety of capacities since 2004. She has a passion for working with at risk youth, especially those who struggle with Substance Use Disorders. Kari is an active member of MCA. She is the chair of the Juvenile Justice Committee, member of the MCA board, and member of the MCA Fall Institute Programming Committee.
